Signatures Signed in "Greenhouses are Developed with KOP Project”

The signatures were signed for the "Greenhouses are Developed with KOP Project”, which will be implemented in cooperation with Selçuklu Municipality and Selçuklu District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry with the financial support of the Konya Plain Project (KOP) Regional Development Administration.

The signatures of the cooperation protocol for the "Greenhouses are Developed with KOP Project”, which will be implemented in cooperation with Selçuklu Municipality and Selçuklu District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry with the grant financing support of the KOP Regional Development Administration under the Ministry of Industry and Technology, were signed in Selçuklu Municipality.

In order to increase agricultural production in Selçuklu District of Konya and to increase the income of citizens engaged in agriculture by directing them to greenhouse activities, another exemplary cooperation protocol between institutions is being implemented. In the project, which is realized with the partnership of KOP Regional Development Administration, Selçuklu Municipality and Selçuklu District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, farmers will be given a total of 70 percent grant greenhouse installation support. In addition to the KOP Administration, Selçuklu Municipality will also provide grant financing support in the project.

“Corporate Cooperation is Important for Us”

Starting his speech by saying “I hope that the project will be beneficial for our region and that it will be a start for the qualified projects we will do in the future”, Dr. Murat Karakoyunlu, President of KOP Administration, stated that one of the most important elements in regional development activities is cooperation and coordination and said, "Coordination is essential to ensure that the activities for rural development are implemented at the right points, with the right methods and in a way to ensure sustainability. In order to ensure this coordination, we evaluated the application of our District Directorate of Agriculture in 2024. For the first time, we decided to implement an activity based on production in greenhouses of approximately 525 square meters, which we have supported in our region as a rural development model and which is technically referred to as summer greenhouses, in our Selçuklu district for the first time. In this context, we have increased the project budget of approximately 9 million as a result of our consultations with our Selçuklu Municipality and increased our target audience from 25 to 42 applications. We matched it with Konya's license plate. In the end, hopefully, we want to bring our producers and farmers who can contribute to the on-site production and on-site consumption model based on the countryside within the borders of our Selçuklu district and who think of contributing to their own family budget, who try to provide their own sustenance with their own production model and ability, to become a producer with this project, to bring them from the consumer dimension to the producer position. We know the problems of rural areas related to production. In this context, our greenhouse supports are actually a trivet of the activities we have carried out. But what is important for us here is institutional cooperation. In this direction, I would like to thank both our District Directorate of Agriculture and Selçuklu Municipality for their contributions to increase this cooperation and the success of the project that we will bring to our region together. I would like to thank both the teams of our District Directorate of Agriculture and Selçuklu Municipality. At the same time, I would like to thank our friends in our Agriculture and Rural Development Coordinatorship, who have made great contributions to the maturation of this project. I hope that the project will be beneficial for our region, I hope that it will be a start for our future, for the qualified projects we will do in the future. “We are Building the Future of Agriculture in Selçuklu”

Emphasizing that the signed protocol is not just a financial support, Mayor of Selçuklu Municipality Ahmet Pekyatırmacı said, "The future of agriculture is possible and shaped by a strong local support understanding and sustainable production policies. As Selçuklu Municipality, we, as Selçuklu Municipality, see it as an essential duty to stand by our producers and to be a partner and support projects that will contribute to the development of our city, agriculture and animal husbandry. With this understanding, we, as Selçuklu Municipality, support the Greenhouse project submitted by our District Directorate of Agriculture to the KOP Regional Development Administration in 2024, with the aim of more producers to be involved in the project, to participate and to increase production with this project. Our KOP Regional Development Administration gives 50 percent grant support to the project. As Selçuklu Municipality, we, as Selçuklu Municipality, add 20 percent to this and increase the grant support rate to 70 percent. With this support, hopefully more of our farmers and fellow citizens engaged in agriculture will be included in this project and we will make an important contribution to our Konya and Selçuk in the development of greenhouse and agriculture. In the work to be carried out in this context, 525 square meters of greenhouses will be equipped with infrastructures that will increase productivity in accordance with modern agricultural techniques and perhaps spread the production process to four seasons. Again, in the process of determining all our citizens who will benefit here, these processes will be realized with the evaluations of our District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and KOP Regional Development Administration.  We think that there will be a significant support for production and employment here. I would like to thank our District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, our KOP Regional Development Administration and all our stakeholders, team, friends, our Selçuklu Municipality Rural Services Directorate and their team for their efforts in carrying out this work. We are actually starting a new process in our Konya and Selçuk. With the greenhouse activities, I hope that in the following process, I think we will achieve very important results in terms of increasing the product diversity in terms of agricultural production in our Konya and Selçuk, spreading the production processes over a wider period of time, and enabling our citizens to access more affordable and more qualified products. Tahir Külahçı, Selçuklu District Director of Agriculture and Forestry, stated that there has been almost no greenhouse cultivation in Selçuklu until today and said, "But as a new initiative, a new production model, we have prepared a project to develop greenhouse cultivation in Selçuklu and thanks to the support of our municipality and KOP Administration, we are taking the first step towards realizing this project. I would like to thank our mayor, Selçuklu Municipality and the Directorate of Rural Development within the municipality and also the KOP Administration for their contributions.
