“We Support Regional Livestock and Livestock Economy”

Emphasizing that within the scope of the project, the existing clinical skills laboratory at Selçuk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will be strengthened with hardware support and the opportunity to practice on farm animals will be increased, KOP Administration President Dr. Murat Karakoyunlu said, "In veterinary medicine education, it is aimed to carry out practices traditionally performed on live animals using simulators and models due to animal welfare and biosafety concerns. In this way, students will be able to gain experience in real operations without making mistakes. Thanks to the project, we aim to ensure that Selçuk University fully complies with the European Association of Veterinarians (EAEVE) Accreditation criteria and to bring clinical skills training to world standards. In addition, we aim to support the animal husbandry and economy of the region by employing graduated veterinarians in the KOP Region."

“KOP Supports Continue”

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz said that nowadays clinical skills practices are an important component of veterinary medicine education in Turkey as well as in many other countries and added: "The clinical skills laboratory is where the first foundations of veterinary medicine education are laid and allows the necessary applications to be made on inanimate animal materials before starting professional life. We already have a laboratory established within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of our university. In this center, trainings continue with the operating room imaging system purchased with the support of the KOP Administration. In the new project, we aim to bring the facilities in the clinical skills laboratory to an advanced level."
