Water Management and Development Agenda at The National Water Council

The 5th meeting of the National Water Council was held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. İbrahim Yumaklı, and hosted by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ).

The meeting was attended on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Technology by a delegation led by our Deputy Minister and Council Member, Mr. Oruç Baba İnan, including the Director General of Development Agencies, Mr. Ahmet Şimşek, the President of the Konya Plain Project (KOP) Regional Development Administration, Dr. Murat Karakoyunlu, and accompanying officials.

During the meeting, a presentation on development in water-scarce regions was delivered, and information was shared on the impacts of surface irrigation projects on groundwater wells, as well as on the regional development activities carried out by the KOP Regional Development Administration in this field.
