In the region, where creeping vines are traditionally grown close to the ground, the lower leaves and soil surface do not receive adequate sunlight. As a result, grapes fail to ripen properly, fungal diseases develop in the persistently humid lower sections, effective pesticide application becomes impossible, and maintenance and harvesting operations are significantly hindered. Due to the absence of standard varieties, the lack of high-training systems, deficiencies in cultivation knowledge, and maintenance errors, the yield in these vineyards remains around 400-500 kg per decare.
Within the scope of the projects, a 52-decare vineyard with a high-cordon training and fencing system has been established, accompanied by the installation of a drip irrigation system, fertilization, and soil analysis.
